Middle & Upper School Science Teachers (Part-Time & Full-Time)

Are you passionate about sharing scientific knowledge with eager young minds? Are you inspired by the chance to be a key member of an innovative educational community?

We are looking for individuals who excel at flexible and creative thinking; who see themselves as learners rather than lecturers; who have excellent content mastery as well as solid teaching experience; who are enthusiastic, highly motivated, committed, and eager to join a community that is passionate about supporting gifted children.

You will be expected to teach small classes of no more than 8 students in grades 6-10 while fostering an effective, engaged, student-centered learning environment. Opportunities for growth and leadership are significant as the school continues to expand in the coming years.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Basic mastery of chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, and earth science; advanced mastery in at least one of these fields.
  • A Pennsylvania teaching certificate or private academic certification (may be in process; we will help qualified candidates obtain certification).
  • Up-to-date (less than 1 year old) clearances prior to beginning work, including Federal Criminal History, PA State Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, Act 168, and any additional required clearances.
  • Sensitivity to and awareness of meeting the social and emotional characteristics of gifted children.
  • The ability to clearly articulate evaluations and opportunities for our students and school in both written and spoken communication.

Seeking a Digital Marketing / Social Media Intern

Are you available 15 hours per week to play an active role in the development of The Grayson School’s inbound marketing efforts? Are you looking for practical, hands-on content marketing experience? Then this may be the opportunity for you.

In this role, you will help create and publish content for our school families and the broader gifted education community, assist in campaign development and execution, and analyze and report on digital campaigns, social and website activity. You will also assist in creating and maintaining digital content, images, videos, and other web content, tag management, and keyword usage. By working in a small and passionate team, you will have the ability to contribute and execute tactical strategies to reach our communities, and promote events or programs through the Internet, gaining practical experience across digital media platforms and the tools used to assess their performance.

SPECIFICALLY, YOU WILL:

  • Develop stories on school activities and create social campaigns for blog posts, inviting conversation and interaction.
  • Take photographs and videos of classroom activities and school events to be developed into content for our website, Facebook and Twitter pages, and update and organize Google Drive content archives.
  • Research and report on the online activity of comparative schools and organizations, and social media best practices.
  • Use Google Tag Manager, WordPress and CoSchedule for campaign implementation.
  • Use Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and Twitter Analytics to assess trends and activity on our pages
  • Compile and review data on the performance of marketing campaigns and make recommendations for adjusting plans or strategies to optimize reach and frequency.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IS:

  • A creative self-starter who is comfortable with both taking initiative and working in collaboration with staff and faculty.
  • Someone who is detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced with Microsoft applications, G-suite, basic photo-editing and video-editing software, and WordPress.
  • Familiar with mainstream social media platforms, Google Tag Manager, and implementing keyword strategies; Google and social media analytics experience a plus.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Your own computer to complete internship projects and tasks. While the internship is unpaid, we can provide a stipend to cover travel and any work-related expenses.
  • A positive attitude under pressure, a strong work ethic, and enjoy working with a wide range of personalities and passions. Most importantly, you should be flexible and willing to take on multiple tasks in a small, start-up environment.
  • Up-to-date (less than 1 year old) clearances prior to beginning work, including Federal Criminal History, PA State Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, and general health screen.
  • Reached your 18th birthday prior to beginning work.

IT WOULD BE AWESOME IF:

  • You have demonstrated sensitivity and awareness to meeting the social and emotional characteristics of gifted children.
  • You can spend at least 5 hours per week on site at our school in Broomall, PA.
  • You are creative/technical hybrid, equally passionate about writing, design and branding, with a strong understanding of the technical side of digital marketing.

Recess, Lunch, and After-School Aide (P/T) Positions

Are you available for approximately 2 hours per day during the week to cover 2 groups of no more than 20 students at a time?

Then this may be the job for you.

You will supervise children during recess, actively engaging with our students.

You will facilitate and assist school personnel with program activities, dismissal procedures, and other assigned duties for the safe and efficient operation of our school.

You will function as a role model for our students, and will be positive and personable in dealing with our staff and parent community.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • At least one year of experience in supervising or working with children.
  • Up-to-date (less than 1 year old) clearances prior to beginning work, including Federal Criminal History, PA State Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, Act 168, and any additional required clearances.
  • Reached your 18th birthday prior to beginning work, and are available for in-service training prior to the start of the school year.

  • A Pennsylvania Elementary Teaching Certificate, or private academic K-8 certification.
  • Up-to-date (less than 1 year old) clearances prior to beginning work, including Federal Criminal History, PA State Criminal Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, Act 168, and any additional required clearances.
  • Sensitivity to and awareness to meeting the social and emotional characteristics of gifted children.
  • The ability to clearly articulate evaluations and opportunities for our students and school in both written and spoken communication.

IT WOULD BE AWESOME IF:

  • You have a Special Education N-12 certificate, STEM-specific Secondary Teaching Certificate, or an advanced degree in Education.
  • You have experience working with gifted students.
