Dear Grayson Community,

We hope that this finds you and your family healthy. We, like you, have been busy adjusting ourselves and our community to this new — albeit temporary — remote learning environment. Our faculty have moved swiftly to engage our students in remote learning, and over the past few weeks, we have seen our entire community bring joy, an open mind, and grit to their work.

We are hosting classes with our usual mix of instruction, peer-to-peer engagement and individual differentiation. Students show up for school in the same way they always have — bringing their best selves and doing their best work to advance their own academic growth and that of their peers.

Our team safely delivered laptops and webcams where needed to make sure that we are offering education in an equitable manner. The vision and ingenuity of our staff and teachers resulted in not only providing our  usual program, but also additional opportunities that truly speak to the way that we know our students: from hand-crafted Projects packages to shared lunch at virtual tables; from Lower School read-alongs to Upper School after-school games; from optic-art explorations and musical rehearsals to directed physical activities and clubs.

What is truly inspiring is that we have continued to express the essential nature of Grayson — our sense of community, our positive engagement, and our recognition of the extraordinary capacity of our learners. This is the heart of what all of us have built.

I just wanted to tell you all how much our family appreciates your hard work and collaboration. I am also a teacher so I know the challenges the last few weeks have presented to schools, teachers, and students. But it is so clear that you are all working together and thinking outside the box to get our children through this unprecedented time! Thank you for all you are doing! — Grayson Parent

I’ve had some opportunity to hear what has happened over the last week as you all transitioned to an online platform for school.  I use the word school advisedly because it was clear you didn’t just deliver classes, but school, with its attendant whole-child growth opportunity (all the way to musical rehearsals).  I am so grateful for the commitment, resilience, creativity, effort and joy that you brought to the challenge.  — Grayson parent

It is nothing short of amazing to see the Grayson community rise to this challenge, drawing on what seem to be endless reservoirs of both commitment and creativity. Kudos. At a time when so many are searching for a clear pathway through the prevailing uncertainty, Grayson serves as a  welcome benchmark, or rather high water mark, of which we can all be proud. — Grayson Board Member

Please let us know how we can help you determine if The Grayson School is a good fit for your family.  We look forward to meeting you soon.
