May 4, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Does your child love math? To celebrate Star Wars Day, we are offering Shapes in Space for ages 9-12. Your child will have a blast exploring shapes in 3-dimensional space such as prisms, pyramids, and even antiprisms. We will explore these shapes and discuss their properties, creating the 5 Platonic solids (even a dodecahedron) in a very delicious way: with gumdrops! After exploring these shapes in 3-dimensional space, the children will have time to attempt making space ships, and maybe even the Death Star.

Parents are invited to join us for a Parenting the Precocious session with Jill Williford Wurman, Director of Research at The Grayson School who will lead a discussion on Wired From Birth: Technology and the Gifted Mind. Jill is a sought-after, engaging, and knowledgeable speaker who has presented at national and international conferences on gifted children, gifted education, and parenting gifted children.
