Our 4-8 students went to Wilson Farm Park for some geocaching on our Friday Field Day Trip. We were very honored to be led by the most incredible geocacher we know: Carolyn K., Director, Hoagies’ Gifted Education Page!

Mrs. Hoagie calls geocaching “high tech hide-and-seek,” as we used GPS, solved puzzles and riddles to track hidden clues and treasures.  Getting outside and exploring nature, along with a fun challenge with our fellow students made for a great day.

Check out her “Geocaching 101” guide to learn more about finding caches in your area.

Our group got lost but ended up closer to the start, but when we realized that we were all tired so we decided to call it a day.

Thomas Edison said, “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” We hope that you and your team can use this experience to learn from your mistakes and be more persistent next time!
