JEDI: Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion
Our students learn to understand and appreciate the diversity of many cultures and lived experiences through their history, heroes, art, food, traditions, and games. Students see themselves in the books in our library and proudly share their heritage in community celebrations.
“As America continues to struggle with social justice racism, the hard work at Grayson taking place around becoming ‘anti-racist’ is more important than ever. A just, equitable, diverse, and inclusive (JEDI) place of learning will enable our amazing students to become leaders of a world free from prejudice and hatred. The faculty, staff, and Board must persist in doing this work around advancing Grayson as an institution anchored in the JEDI principles and values, and lived out on a daily basis. It could not be more vital.”
“Grayson recognizes that gifts and talent are not limited to a zip code or economic status. I give to Grayson because there is an obvious commitment, both at the school and in their outreach efforts, to close the equality gap in gifted education. I have had many mentors that have made a huge mark on my life, and it is very fulfilling for me to pass that forward as a role model to Grayson students through collaboration and support.”
