Mr. Sizer teaches science at Grayson to students in grades 4-10, including biology, chemistry, and physical science. His pedagogy emphasizes particularly the use of demonstrations and hands-on work in the classroom because he knows that the experiential learning is a highly dynamic and engaging way to impart learning and convey the real-world applications of the science he teaches.
His teaching experience includes years of instruction across multiple disciplines in science and mathematics, including engineering and algebra in addition to biology and chemistry. At his previous position with a small private school, he was also very involved with student extracurricular activities, coaching both the cross country and track teams, both of which he created and developed for the school.
A Pennsylvania native who grew up on the in the Philadelphia suburbs, himself, Mr. Sizer holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from Ursinus College, with additional study in pedagogy at Drexel University. His passion for teaching and learning is a genuine one that pervades his spare time, too, as he is a completely self-taught coder.
