Dr. Robert Broadrup teaches science enrichment at Grayson, bringing his expertise in teaching college-level chemistry — most recently, Organic Chemistry and Chemical Structure and Reactivity — to our middle and upper school programs.
In addition to his current appointment running the Broadrup Research Group at Haverford College, he has also taught at Bryn Mawr College, Delaware County Community College, and the Church Farm School, where he was the head of the Science Department and taught both AP and non-AP Chemistry as well as coaching the First Lego League and SeaPerch Underwater Robotics Clubs. He has also worked in large commercial laboratories including Avantix, Adolor, Advanced Synthesis Group, and Protarga.
Dr. Broadrup earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Bryn Mawr College, where he wrote his dissertation on the synthetic building blocks of anti-cancer medications. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics at Haverford College. Dr. Broadrup’s hobbies overlap significantly with his research at Haverford in that he has become a dedicated apiarist, or beekeeper. His apiary, Four Bees Apiary LLC, is a fully licensed artisanal honey producer in the state of Pennsylvania.
