Mathematics Teacher

We are looking for individuals who excel at flexible and creative thinking; who see themselves as learners rather than lecturers; who are enthusiastic, highly motivated, committed, and eager to join a community that is passionate about supporting gifted children.
As a long-term mathematics substitute at The Grayson School, you will be expected to provide instruction for small classes of students learning everything from addition to advanced Algebra in an effective, engaged, student-centered learning environment. Opportunities for growth, professional development, and full-time faculty positions are significant as the school continues to expand.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Experience in elementary or middle school education.
  • A Pennsylvania teaching certificate or private academic certification.
  • Up-to-date (less than 1-year-old) clearances before beginning work, including Federal Criminal History, PA State Criminal
  • Record Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, Mandated Reporter training, TB test, Act 168, and any additional required clearances.
  • The ability to clearly articulate evaluations and opportunities for our students in both written and spoken communication.

We know that our students need passionate teachers that will challenge them and foster their intrinsic desire to learn and think deeply.

You will be expected to teach small classes of students in grades pre-K-12 while fostering an effective, engaged, student-centered learning environment. Opportunities for growth and leadership are significant as the school continues to expand in the coming years.

YOU MUST:

  • Be fluent in Italian and English.
  • Demonstrate an appreciation of both the intellectual and the social-emotional needs of gifted children.
  • Embrace failure as a necessary component of learning.
  • Understand why you must differentiate for a variety of learners.
  • Have an innate need to share your knowledge of Italian language and dialects, your love of Italian culture and history, and your enthusiasm for Italian innovation.
  • Create authentic opportunities for evaluation and growth in both written and spoken communication.

Hebrew Teacher

The Grayson School is looking for a Hebrew teacher to join our faculty. This is a unique opportunity to become a part of the first school specifically designed to meet the needs of gifted students in Pennsylvania. You will be expected to teach small-group Modern Hebrew classes, differentiating across all levels while fostering an effective, engaged, student-centered learning environment.

  • Mastery of the Hebrew language and world language education.

IT WOULD BE AWESOME IF:

  • You have an advanced degree in education or Hebrew.
  • You have completed Neta or TaL AM training.
  • You have additional language expertise (polyglots welcome!).
  • You have experience working with gifted children.
  • You delight in partnering with colleagues to provide rich, integrated, creative learning experiences for young people.
